21 year old Elisabeth van Dijke enrolled as a student in Autonomous Visual Art at the Rotterdam Willem de Kooning Academy, but not before having a year’s taste of the Illustration training. Actually, she has always found herself between these disciplines. Lately, she has mainly been working with pencil and diluted paint on transparent fabrics. Using multiple layers not only provides a literal stratification in her work, but a certain depth as well.
